=========================================

80G and 12A registrations in India are essential for NGOs, charitable organizations, and trusts to gain tax exemptions and benefits. These certifications encourage donors to contribute by making their donations tax-deductible and provide tax relief for the organization.

What is 80G and 12A Registration?

  • 12A Registration: Grants tax exemption to an NGO or charitable organization on its income. Applicable to trusts, societies, and Section 8 companies.
  • 80G Registration: Allows donors to claim tax deductions for their contributions under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.

Benefits

For 12A Registration:

  • Income Tax Exemption: The organization’s income is exempted from income tax.
  • Increased Credibility: Establishes trustworthiness for donors and government agencies.

For 80G Registration:

  • Donor Benefits: Donors can deduct 50% or 100% of the donation amount from taxable income, depending on specific criteria.
  • Attract Donations: Incentivizes funding by making contributions tax-deductible.

To be eligible, an organization must:

  • Be established as an NGO, trust, society, or Section 8 company.
